About This Project

These massive retaining wall structures saved the day! Limestone from nearby quarries and open pit mines was available where the cement plant was built in Antioquia, Colombia.

Most retaining structures were designed using large rocks to hold back soil and earth, creating level ground or preventing erosion. These gravity walls are visually appealing and look natural fitting into the landscape preventing soil erosion and providing stability.

They were installed relatively quickly with small specialized crews and a reduced overall cost in comparison to precast or in – situ concrete retaining walls.
