About This Project

A 150m bridge with two large spans and a third smaller comprises of two pratt type flat trusses, with a roof to provide enclosure. It looks like a roller coaster but the curvature was necessary in order to provide a small clearance above the warehouse lying below and still maintain a smooth transfer line for the conveyor.
The bridge serves as a motorway overpass transferring crushed aggregate from the limestone storage building to the plant hoppers.

Pot bearings are used to transfer large vertical loads to the pylon, and abutments while allowing for rotational and horizontal movements. The third span support slides on the building.

The bridge truss elements were hot deep galvanized and that required to provide many splice joints that increased the self-weight of the structure.
